MY ROLE
As an Instructional Design intern, I worked on the Growth and Enablement team, where I developed training modules for sales representatives. My role involved creating engaging learning materials that helped sales reps better understand Waystar’s products and services. I collaborated closely with team members to ensure the training content was aligned with business goals and equipped the sales team with the skills needed to succeed.
PROJECTS
In the three months I was at Waystar, I:
-
Developed a training module on how to conduct Coverage Detection using our software.
-
Helped revise presentations for in-person trainings at our Louisville location.
-
Assisted my team with tips and tricks to streamline their work within programs such as PowerPoint and Articulate.
-
Created a method for engaging learners in the training module that ended up being used by the rest of my team in their own modules, as well.
WHAT I LEARNED
In the span of three months, I learned more than I could ever learn in a classroom setting. Not only was my decision to pursue design reinforced, but I was introduced to a part of the field I had never seen before. I was shown the endless possibilities of design careers, the power designers hold in every sector of life, and the importance of good design in everyday technology.
